Heiner Schulz is Assistant Professor of Political Science at the University of Pennsylvania. His research focuses on banking sector liberalization in emerging markets, capital flows to developing countries, and decision-making in international institutions. His work has been published in the American Journal of Political Science, International Organization, and the McKinsey Quarterly. He was a National Fellow at the Hoover Institution in 2005-2006 has been awarded a 2007-2009 Sloan Industry Studies Fellowship. Before joining the Penn faculty he was a consultant for McKinsey & Company and a fellow of the McKinsey Global Institute. He holds a Ph.D. in political science from Stanford University and degrees in economics and international relations from the University of Munich and Columbia University.
