I am an assistant professor of political science at the University of Pennsylvania.
My research concerns the determinants of political decisions about the use of force.
My book manuscript, which is currently under review, explores the sources of variation
in the duration and severity of interstate wars. I also have a number of side papers
on the democratic peace, reputation and international politics, and conquest in war.
